Do you receive billing without a proper breakdown of charges?
PRS will answer all of your questions and explain every charge – we have nothing to hide!
PRS is in independently owned household goods move management company headquartered in Melbourne, FL.
How do you help your clients improve service?
Our highly skilled move coordinators act as a single source contact throughout the entire moving process, which streamlines communication and eliminates the need for multiple contacts.
We work with only the best movers in the industry and select moving companies based on a combination of their regional strengths and their ability to meet scheduling requirements.
How do you help your clients reduce cost?
We charge our customers a low, flat rate of only $250.00 per file instead of based on a percentage of the move. This can result in a very large savings – especially on large moves.
We are also able to provide substantial savings by reducing or eliminating third-party charges - such as crating, eliminating short-term storage by selecting the proper service provider, and auditing invoices for accuracy and policy compliance.
How does PRS differ from other third-party companies that arrange moving services?
Move management is our only business, not just a “throw-in” service from a full-service relocation company, which is often selected primarily for its home sales services, not its move management expertise.
Most—if not all---relocation companies charge or retain revenue based on your total spent, which eliminates the incentive to provide cost containment.
PRS charges a flat file fee ($250) per move, with no hidden fees or rebates.
What moving companies does PRS work with and how are they selected?
PRS works with many of the major van lines in addition to some of the top independent carriers. Moving companies are selected based on geographical strengths, customer preference, and ability to meeting scheduling requirements.
Will PRS work with my existing movers?
Our program can be customized to almost any specific requests, including mover selection.
What are the projected cost savings when using PRS?
Depending on the average size of the move, we find that we are consistently able to achieve savings of $1,000 or more per move by using more favorable contract terms, reducing storage expenses, reducing third-party costs, and auditing invoices for errors.
What types of contract terms are used?
For the best rates, contract with a moving company whose rates were set before Jan 1, 2008.
After that time, laws changed that allowed an individual carrier to make its own rules and set its own rates. From Jan 1, 2000 though Dec 31, 2007, tariffs increased 35.20%, which must be considered when comparing different company costs.
PRS is aware of all of this industry history, so can quickly and easily analyze the terms and determine the best terms.
What is PRS’s philosophy on third-party usage and crating?
We believe third-party usage and crating are dramatically overused on corporate moves, and that trend seems be growing.
Here’s our rationale for our belief:
These types of services are rarely used on private transferee or military moves, yet they have become standard on corporate moves.
Under most current pricing agreements corporations are already paying to have everything packed on a per hundred weight basis. The mover makes arrangements with a specialty company for the crating and retains a 10 to 25% markup. The mover gets paid twice for the same work, while at the same time, shifting any potential liability for damage to another source.
As a general guideline, we only consider crating an object when its value exceeds ten times the cost of the crate.
Are cars shipped on the moving van or on a car carrier?
Either option can work. Negotiated properly, the cost for either method should be handled as a flat rate—not based on weight. The frequency of damage is comparable for either method.
In most cases, when the car is shipped at the same time as the household goods, it makes sense to ship the car on the van so everything arrives at the same time.
How does PRS assure moves are audited correctly?
All moves are audited by an outside service provider and included in our flat fee. We also offer clients the ability to retain any existing auditor and we’ll pay the fee.
Does PRS provide valuation coverage and assistance with claim resolution?
Yes, we offer agreements that provide transit coverage or options that allow corporations to retain an existing third-party source. We also provide assistance with claim resolution.
Does PRS offer any type of no-cost examination of existing carriers?
Yes, we offer both a confidential no-cost analysis and a money-back guarantee.
